Break-in at Block A on Friday June 12, 2009

Dear Owners

There was another break-in at Block A on Friday 12 June 2009. It occured in the day. The JMC and the chief security officer were at the scene to talk to the owner. The method used to break into the house was the same as the others.
They just cut the thin ear-lope.

The clamp sold by us was not used. We are not blaming the owner for not using the tailored made clamp. So far, houses with the clamps have not being broken into. As we had said the clamp is not fool proof but nevertheless it serves as a deterrent. Once again, we wish to plead with the owners to use the tailored made clamps supplied by us. The cost is only RM15.00 each.

For a burglar, speed is a major consideration. The tailored made clamp may take a longer time to cut which is already a deterrent.

    The recent break ins sounds really unsecure. Is there any photo caught in the lift?..or they escape by staircase again? this unit shows it is located at 3rd floor. If they escape by the lift lobby,they have to wait till someone open it, unless the door is damage.
    Do we still think that this might be an insider job?
    I personally very sure that this is an insider job, whether is a student or rented tenants here. They must know very well the surrounding here. Everytime they escape uncaught. I personally experience some of the students here really doesn’t behave like a student, is more like a gangster .Nowdays teenage are different, some of them are really violent.
    All proposal to prevent burglars has been voice out before. Hope it can be solve as soon as possible.

    Besides pointing fingers at the security guards which some believed are involved, I have a strong feeling that this is an insider job. Like chevycamaro75, I agree with his comments.

    By the way, can the jmb and management work out a plan to screen out units that have been rented out. We should have the details of the new tenants whether are they students, individuals, group of friends, small family or big family.

    Further more, those who moves out to a new unit/floor/block or permanently moves out need to be registered and monitored closely. They need to fill up forms with details i.e.
    i) individual or family moving out
    ii) when they moved in and reason moving out etc

    We need to have CCTV at each floor badly.

    We will discuss that on JMC Meeting today 8:30pm, its a collective decision to agree for any proposal from any residents.
